An Excellent Day

Today dearest daughter came over and walked me to the dental hygienist, and walked me home afterwards. This was a big achievement as I had never walked that far up the hill before. She pointed out two other dropped edges giving a way to avoid that rather nasty crossing.

We then went out for a walk together, me in Scoot, she on foot. It is really quite easy to match her walking pace. Because she can walk beside me, we can have a grand blether.

She was looking for new jeans, so we went to Marks and Spencer, of course I had a look too and wondered if I would fit into a size 18 now that I have lost some weight, so I took a pair of size 18 (turn away, all you skinny folk) and tried them on. Lo and behold, they fastened. DD came and looked and we both agreed it would be worthwhile trying a size 16 . I tried a 16 long and they fitted - A MARVEL!, but sadly they had no 16 short, but I was able to order them - in Tuesday. You will appreciate what a miracle this is as I have been wearing elastic waisted pull-ons for quite some time now.

Younger son has been unwell again. It is always a worry as he is living with only 1 donated kidney. After a week of feeling most unwell, he is now on the mend.

Just when I feel that I'm having a rough time of it, I read about someone living with one donated kidney, and suddenly I realize that I've been whining and other people have real problems.

Hope your boy feels better soon, E.

Hugs,
M

Ah, don't you worry about it, Marcheline, my "wee boy" is in fact a man who has a very positive attitude to life, although he hates the sick times. He has a wonderful wife, who "took him on" knowing just what she was facing.

Best wife in the world, and if you do have some long term illness, there's not much else you can say except for raising the digited salute and carrying on.
