Medical Blogs........

........or the absence thereof.

It has been very disappointing to lose Dr Crippen (hopefully not forever, but he has been absent for rather a long time now), and then Hospital Phoenix, who shows no sign of returning; also the Angry Medic, although I think he is still lurking in the blogosphere, and posts occasionally.

Today I went to visit Dr Grumble's site as I do on a daily basis..

..and there he was...

gone.

Or at least changed to an invitation - only site, and once again I am a wallflower as I have not received an invitation.

Strange - these 'invitation only' sites. I used to read 'It's Just a Blog', then one day, it was invitation only, so haven't been able to read it since. Then it dawned on me - they obviously don't want me! Boo hoo hoo!

Absolutely, I feel like the only person who hasn't been picked for either side in a school sporting event! Boo hoo hoo indeed. Perhaps we can share a box of paaper handkies!

Finding everyone would be really difficult - drop them an email. I've done that with a few invitation only blogs and have been granted access :)

I wish I could drop Dr Grumble an email, but don't have his address. That was how I got hold of the little medic (but he gave due warning!)

Shame isn't it. I used to like Dr Grumble too but he obviously didn't like me either!

Elaine, you and I have very similar taste in our blog reading, as I'm regularly find a comment from you on the blogs I read, though I rarely comment myself, which is how I found your blog - also on my list of fave reads!

Any tissues left for me cos I don't have the good doc email address either :o(

Hello, Smudge. Went to look at yourblo but seems you don't have one yet.

Hurry up - I look forward to reading it when you get going!

None of you should take offence. The only person who can read the blog is me. The reason is that my identity became increasingly widely known. I was recognised from the very first post so it was always only going to be only a matter of time before everybody knew who I was and that made me even more indiscreet as I knew that the cat was already out of the bag.

I have nothing against any of you! Quite the opposite. But I decided that the blog had to come to an end and arbitrarily chose the end of the year. I became increasingly concerned that the blog might cause me trouble and the only safe thing to do was kill it. I do hope you understand.

The Grumble blog hasn't actually been deleted. I couldn't bring myself to do that but I am the only one who can read it. I will continue some sort of presence in the blogosphere for a while to prevent any silly rumours like the ones we had when Dr Crippen retired.

I hope you enjoyed Dr Grumble while it lasted.

Thank you Dr Grumble for that very kind comment, I no longer feel like a wallflower!

May I wish you all success in the future.

Did Dr Crippen retire? Were there silly rumours? I must have missed all of that, but then I have been a bit out od circulation.

Hi there Dr Grumble (and Elaine!)

Honestly, I'm not offended either. Very much enjoyed your blog and thanks for it. Thanks too for your explanation and I'm glad you're OK. I understand your reasons for stopping a public blog - actually that's pretty much the reason why I don't have my own blog - it would take more time/effort than I think I could effectively manage to make myself unrecognisable. That and the fact my life isn't THAT interesting to other people!!!

Sorry for hijacking your post, Elaine!

Smudge :o)
