It has been a quiet day today. My lovely cleaning lady went down to the near by baker for some rolls for me to save me taking the car out - I don't know whether we have a lot of visitors or whether some people are using our small residents' parking area as a public car park.
Today is Le chef's birthday, but not a significant date, so I sent a card but have not seen him.
I seemed to take some time to catch up with the blogs I read, but also I have ordered The Scotsman ( a Scottish National Newspaper). I tried to give it up as the quality of the paper has gone steadily downhill over the past several years, through changes of owners and changes of editors.
Still, there columnists whom I really enjoy (and I hope that Fordyce Maxwell returns more often).
After so long without doing a cryptic crossword, I am finding it quite difficult to get back into the swing of it.
So, what is happening about my reading?
And my jigsaws?

I get Scottish Life!
- M
I do like the Scottish Widow in the ad!!! Sorry, off track!
To Marcheline
His first book is Quite Ugly One Morning.
I now find that someone has stolen my copy of his second book so I shall just have to order it again second from Amazon
To Dickiebo
How kind of you. Of course, I was a year or two younger then.
The first Scottish Widow in the ad was Roger Moore's daughter. There have been a couple of reincarnations since then. Elaine, I don't think you were one of them... (Always assuming Dickiebo was alluding to the TV ads, of course.)
Oh, tbsitw, could you not have left me with a wee bit of mystery there?(joke)- in fact I had forgotten it was Roger Moore's daughter.
S'funny. Roger Moore learned Kung Fu (briefly!) at our club, but I never knew that he had a daughter like that!!
