Moved here two years ago as a result of having to face up to the fact that I was no longer fit enough to live entirely unsupported, having had frequent bouts of ill health. When I first walked through the door, my heart sank as the first thing you see is the residents lounge. Still at least easy chairs and tables are tastefully dotted around the room not arranged round the walls!
Next the flat. Only one bedroom, but NICE. Decent sized living room with dining area and, most important, room for all my books (well, never enough room for that but recycle through Amazon), bathroom and dinky kitchen, with small hall and storage cupboard off.
The living room has french windows leading onto a tiny patio and small border with flowers. Needless to say I have filled the patio with pots of herbs and the odd flowering plant with a view to adding to the border later. Gardeners come and cut the grass and keep the borders tidy for all the flats.
We have a house manager who is excellent, she pops in to see the more vulnerable residents every day and there is a call system if help is needed.
Last year, after almost failing to get out of the bath - having visions of hunky firemen having to get me out (and me not a pretty sight in the nuddy), decided to take the bath out and put in a shower. It's a great one, plenty of room, good hot power shower and even a seat if I need one sometime in the future.

Hi Elaine,
Thanks for the link and welcome to the world of blogging!
I have linked you back - this looks like it's going to be a great blog.
Looking forward to reading more of your posts soon.
All the best,
Mousie.
Hi Mousie, many thanks for good wishes. I love your blog. Never thought I would pluck up the courage to do this.
There's a lot more in my head, but it may take some time to get it all down. And to think I thought I would have nothing to write about!
