The Best Laid Schemes of Mice and Men .........

Gang aft agley, with thanks to Robert Burns.

All my schemes went agley yesterday morning when daughter invited me over to lunch as she had her elder brother’s 2 children until about tea time.

It was really good of her to ask me over and she supplied a wonderful lunch of carrot and coriander soup. We served this with the cheese and onion loaf brought by Mr and Mrs B yesterday. Oh, but it was good.

I caught up with daughter and elder son’s news and saw 3 of 4 grandchildren (the oldest was away with his grandfather)

Found myself quite shaky on my pins as I left daughter’s house (and got helped down the lower flight of stairs where there is no stair rail). Even when we reached “terra firma”, I still felt a bit wobbly; however I was all right sitting in the car. On the first occasion in quite a long while, I felt the need to use my stick to help me from the car and to walk home across the car park to here.

So, I tried to make a start on the files, came through to the computer, printed something, stood up and fell, this time luckily landing backwards on to my computer chair!

Think I shall have a nice quiet evening with my book.

However, did not feel too good, so no reading but went to bed early with microwave hot water bottle and the electric blanket on.

I don't feel ill as such but think I have caught a dose of "man flu", so am going back to bed with plenty of water.
