No, not rain showers, but the joys of a cold shower this morning, once again.
On doing a search of my blog for "header tank" I find that the last time the tank was topped up was 3 January.
Only 3 months ago.
Le chef suggested it might be due to a loosely fitting lid and a warm room.
Ah.
Not only is the lid loose (dropped it into the tank trying to re-fit it and had to fish it out - luckily I had filled the tank right to the top, so I could grab it), but there was a central stopper to the lid which I cannot find.
May be lurking at the bottom of the tank, so completely lost.
Anyway, to the process:
Took all the stuff off the floor.
Then took all the luggage off the rack over the top of the tank.
Then propped the rack on a cube of paper handkies.
Then filled the tank - it took 10 litres.
Then put everything back where it came from.
Oh boys, that was an effort.
The good news is that a parcel arrived from Lands End. It contained two lovely cashmere sweaters which are now parcelled up for return as they are hand wash only and my hands cannot cope with hand washing garments.
Knew I should not have ordered them as they were rather expensive, but now I shall be £216 better off!

?***£###X!!! HOW MUCH.........?
Glad they were hand wash.
The price was for 2 jumpers, at least.
Try thinking like a man, Elaine! Order dark coloured jumpers, then you don't have to wash them. See? Easy, peasy!
Oh dear - a cold shower - how unpleasant!
I am sure there's something fundamentally wrong with your plumbing - probably something quite simple. The header tank really shouldn't need topping up.
We had a pressurised hot water tank installed about 10 years ago and for the first 6 years we had to top it up regularly to keep the pressure up. We then discovered there was something really simple - I can't remember what abut I think it was a bit of grit in a valve - was causing a slow leak. Once we fixed that the pressure remained stable for many many months without any topping up. I know your system is different but it seems likely that if you can get someone with the necessary skills of diagnosis to look at it the problem can be solved. Of course finding the right a person is another matter …
