BRIDGE!!!

Today I went to the Bridge Club for the first time. Why is it that I am too overcome by shyness to seek something like that out for myself? I think it is a fear of rejection thing.

Anyway the two tilers phoned to say that a morning job had been cancelled so could they come to me. I said "of course". So they came and finished the tiling behind the fridge and the freezer. They still have to come back to do the grouting later this week and then it will be all done. (no, never say that, Elaine.)

So off I toddled to the bridge club and they came too to introduce me.

Well have I had a great afternoon. I was not nearly as rusty as I had feared. Turns out that Monday afternoon is very friendly and you have the opportunity to talk over hands afterwards. Still rusty over scoring and defence, but managed the defense fine and the playing well! It also does not matter on a Monday afternoon if you have a partner or not. Tuesday evening is social but you need a partner, Monday and Wednesday evenings are serious, competitive stuff. So I'll stick to Monday afternoon for some time yet.
