Went to the Bridge Club today and the bridge was on. We had 5 tables (20 players) and so played 20 boards. There were some interesting hands, and in the middle our mentor produced a made-up hand for light relief. This was one of these situations where the opponents won as they were bidding spades and we were bidding diamonds, and spades outranks diamonds. Oh well then, at least it was only a fun one. I particularly enjoyed playing with my partner of this week.
It turns out that there was Bridge last Monday, but our mentor was away, and the person opening up didn't get there until almost 1 o'clock (when we are supposed to start playing then.) chiz, chiz, chiz as Adrian Molesworth would say.
Came back in nice time to have a cup of tea with the Scrabble players.

I like words. I like quick crosswords (cryptic ones perplex me, I've never been able to do those).
If you like Scrabble, do you play Scrabulous at all? It's Scrabble that you can play online with friends, taking a turn when you want to, logging on to make your move as suits you.
I've realised, playing Scrabble (through Scarbulous) with my Facebook friends, that I really, really am appallingly bad at it :-)
To the shrink:
I love cryptic crosswords; when I lived with my sister, we used to do one with her sitting across the table from me reading out the clues (I became quite adept at reading them upside down. One of us would nearly always get the answer. I still do them, but it's not so much fun on my own!
I've never played Scrabulous, but have played Scrabble on a bigger board (no, not much bigger, but with more squares, more doubles and triples and four quadruples. Great fun).
