Hair Cut

Today I went to (Big City) for a hair cut. Before going, as I had an early start, I managed some shopping, and had the car filled with petrol. All my fears of a 20% surcharge for cancelling an appointment were as naught. In fact, I was greeted, as usual, very cordially. He said, as usual, "just a wee trim then", and I said,"ummm, well, actually I had been thinking of getting a fair bit off the top." He always makes my hair look so good, but I can't manage the top, which is quite long. As I said, if I don't like it, I can always grow it back in again.

Coming home was a whole nother matter; as I tried to go round the roundabout to get on the motorway, things did not look too good. The west bound lane of the motorway was completely closed. Some eastbound traffic had been diverted onto the outer lane of the westbound carriageway, and there was an enormous queue of traffic coming from the roundabout to an alternative route home. A nice policeman asked if he could help, but when I told him where I was going he was most apologetic that he could do nothing.

It was stop, start (but mostly stop) from then on until I was almost home. A journey which usually takes 20 minutes or half an hour took over 2 hours.

Felt quite shaky on my pins as I unloaded the car and came in for a belated lunch.

However after a M&S sandwich and a small glass of sherry, feel fine again.
