This afternooon, off to bridge again. Their were only eight of us playing, so we played in teams.
There was a lot of laughter as well as a lot of learning.
Home in time for a cup of tea with the Scrabble players - accompanied by "After Eight" sticks. I have never seen them before, and thought they looked rather like cigarillos.
The evening meal was 3 sausages from the Farmers' Market with broad beans, potatoes and kohl rabi frrom either the same source or from the vegetable box delivery

"Beans" I know (including how many make five), and all I have to do to sum up "broad" is look at my arse in a mirror...
But "broad beans"?
Never heard of 'em! What do they look like? What do they taste like? Are they served with sauce or plain?
Inquiring minds want to know!

Ummm, they come in a pod (surprise) which looks like a GM pea pod - it is longer, broader and rough with black patches. The beans inside are green, about the size of a thumbnail and say 2mm thick. I bet you know them under another name!
