Christmas Eve was fairly quiet, after TBSITW and Le Chef had picked me up and packed me up and delivered me to their house.
I performed my usual trick of having a wee sleep in the afternoon, and slept for quite a while!
In spite of this I slept well that night, and was up in good time for breakfast.
Before that TBSITW came and helped me open Santa’s sack (well, ski sock).
Said breakfast was Bagels with cream cheese and smoked salmon - WONDERFUL! At the same time we had some Bucks Fizz (orange juice and Champagne) and then started on opening the presents, one at a time and taking turns.
Great fun.
Then dearest daughter and M. arrived and we opened more presents.
All my presents were excellent but I have to single out two:
The first one is a beautiful jumper knitted in Jaeger Aran wool which I bought several years ago before finding that I can no longer knit. TBSITW knitted it, and it was a mammoth task because it is a long jacket knitted in one and one rib.
The second one was such a surprise that I opened it and looked at it and did not understand what it was at first.
It is a helicopter experience voucher from daughter and M.
I am going to be going up in a helicopter in the spring!
Wow!
When I realised what it was, I could not help it but to cry a few tears.
Daughter told me that I must be more careful what I write in my blog…..
Christmas dinner was a confit of goose, a delicious pate with salad and then the goose itself with potatoes roasted in goose fat and vegetables roasted, also in goose fat.
THEN came the famous figgy pudding - and this year I managed to finish my serving, to all round acclaim!

"Daughter told me I must be more careful what I write..."
Dunno what she is referring to, Elaine, but WE say that you don't say quite enough. Know what I mean? The case of the upright Gentleman!!! Nudge, nudge, wink, wink!
Up in a chopper????? Horror upon horror. No thank-you! Feet on the good old terra firma, gal. Keep 'em anchored.
Well, I thought it would be prudent not to mention the KohiNoor diamond!
Have an awesome time on that chopper. Don't think I've ever had figgy pudding (though I've certainly sung about it). Do you have a recipe?
