Muchos Gracias

Three things to report:

Firstly, I have managed to figure out the manual for the clock, and am trying to see if the alarm will waken me so that I would need only one alarm clock on the go at a time. The only thing that I still haven't sussed is how to keep the time projection on all the time (I know it is a feature, but haven't managed it yet.) Without that, I have to reach over and press the snooze button, so no big deal!.

Secondly, I had a telephone call from nephew to say that his wife and the baby are both home and doing well. I also had an email with photos attached of baby, mother and baby, father and baby, sister and baby (looking so proud) and one of baby with a HUGE yawn.

Awww, cute.

Thirdly, TBSITW brought me a bag of baby beetroot from her garden. Some were like the usual beetroot, but some were white - I have never heard of this before. Anyway, I made a salad for this evening's meal as I am going to the bridge club later, and both the types of beetroot were delicious.

Elaine, I know this has absolutely nothing to do with beetroots, but...

Do you know anything about plantar fasciitis? I'm searching for any way to remedy it that does not involve getting large needles in the bottom of my foot.

As you are a nurse, I thought you might have some good insight there.

Ummm, I do not pretend to be that bane of Dr Crippen's life, a nurse quacktitioner, and all I can say is that I don't really know anything about it.

Plantar is the sole of the foot, and fasciitis is imflammation of the fascia, or connective tissue.

If you want to avoid needles and things, you could always try a podiatrist in the first instance as perhaps a gel fitment inside your shoe could help. I hesitate to say this at all.

In this country I would recommend you to see a General Practitioner first, but don't know which professional you should see "across the pond". Sorry, I don't reckon this is of much help, and I have no past experience of anything of the sort as a nurse.

Basically, it is see the appropriate health professional.

Please let Marcheline know that I suffered from plantar fasciitis some years ago (made walking round the golf course rather painful). My doctor referred me to the Foot Clinic and their solution - which worked for me at any rate - was a custom made insole, mainly to support the foot arch, to use in my walking shoes.
