Today the weather was beautiful, with the sun shining, although the wind was still on the cold side.
I have probably cast a spell on the rest of the "summer" by changing into a t-shirt and cardigan. It is so nice to get in to a car that feels warm before the heater kicks in - it is even better when you have to use the air conditioning to cool the car down.
This afternoon I was once again back at the bridge club and played with the same partner as last week.
As I may have mentioned, last week we played as two teams, and as I discovered this week, our team one.
Once again, I returned too late to have a cup of tea with the scrabble crowd.
I feel that I am moving more and more away from them, but this is no bad thing as I am making friends away from this block of flats.

I'm a confused old man, Elaine. 'Our team one'??? That damned G & T!!
to dickiebo:
As there were only 8 people at bridge last week, we were divided into 2 teams of 4 (team A and team B) At the start two of team A played 2 of team B (boards 1 - 5, then boards 6 - 10, while at the other table the other pair from team A played the other pair from team B (boards 6 - 10 5 then boards 1 - 5.
At half time the people from team B swapped to the other table and things progressed as before but with boards 11 - 15 then boards 16 - 20.
Basically everybody played each board, and this arrangement makes for fair scoring, taking out the luck of the cards, and counting only the skill with which the two teams bid and played.
If you lie down in a darkened room with a cold cloth on your forehead you may feel a little better.
please forgive the typo after boards 6 - 10 the second time a stray 5 has crept in.
It was cold here yesterday, but we had the sunshine last week when you had the rain so I suppose fair is fair.. glad you are enjoying a bit of warmth, though please don't over do it in the garden and have a tumble.. glad you enjoyed the bridge, it's nice to have friends outside of the community of flats as well.
